Although different poker players will have many different starting hand ranges, and many different ways of playing those starting hands, I'm going to base this instruction almost purely on math, giving anybody who chooses to follow this guide a good, solid foundation to base their game on, as well as a good understanding of why they're playing the hands they are, the way they are.
One of the first things that you'll probably find different about this guide is that the way you play certain hands pre-flop will depend on a lot of other factors. Primarily, yours and your direct opponents stack sizes amongst other things.
You wont find any of that illogical "always raise with pocket pairs" type of advice here. Also, although I'll try to go into as much detail as possible for every possible playable starting hand and scenario, some starting hands may be grouped for convenience. |
