| WHAT ARE KICKBACKS? |
| When a poker affiliate site refers you to a poker site, the affiliate gets paid for doing so. Sometimes the affiliate will be paid a percentage of the rake you pay, (see, what is rakeback?), and sometimes the affiliate will be paid a one off fee. Sometimes, when an affiliate is paid a one off fee, they'll give a large percentage of that fee back to the customer. This is a kickback. Although a kickback won't generate the customer as much money as rakeback in the long term, it will give the customer a quick boost to their bankroll, which may allow the customer to play for more money, and therefor win more money than they'd get playing for less money with rakeback. A kickback also gives the customer the opportunity to gain both a first deposit bonus from the poker site, and a kickback from the affiliate, and then cash out and move to another site where they can clear another bonus and kickback.
